The rumours had been swirling, and there was a suspicion that The Hardys would show up given that they had left TNA, were in town and performed the night before at Ring Of Honor’s Supercard of Honor show, and the fact the stipulation to make the tag team title match a ladder match came out of of nowhere.
But that didn’t make the moment any less memorable at all, as The Hardys return happened extremely quickly over Wrestlemania and was kept under wraps until the very last minute, as explained by Matt Hardy himself.
Speaking to SPORTbible in The Hardy Boyz’s first and only sit-down interview since returning, he said:
“That’s one of the beautiful things about World Wrestling Entertainment, sports entertainment and pro wrestling – it can be exciting. We try to do a good job of concealing it, keeping it a secret and there were a lot of rumours swirling obviously but we were able to maintain the secrecy a little bit. We literally walked into the building, walked up five floors of stairs and straight out in front of that sea of humanity so to walk out there was absolutely exhilarating in many, many ways and it was a moment that blew us away. The reaction we got was just so humbling, so flattering and it was incredible. It was truly one of the top moments of my career, no doubt.”

Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus
The days of polite handshakes in the Raw Tag Team Title race are over.
With the battle lines drawn once again between The Hardy Boyz and the new-attitude Cesaro & Sheamus, the Raw Tag Team Champions and their challengers deployed half their respective ranks — Jeff and Sheamus, to be exact — for a singles competition that lacked any of the tentative sportsmanship of their last cycle of matches.
In fact, Hardy started like a house on fire against The Alabaster Gladiator, only to find his aggression turned against him when Sheamus tossed Jeff into the barricade minutes into the match.
The Charismatic Enigma eventually clawed his way back after kicking out of a knee to the face that miraculously didn’t knock out any more of his teeth. When The Celtic Warrior Brogue Kicked Matt Hardy off the apron (an unsuspecting Cesaro broke his fall), Jeff caught his opponent with the Twist of Fate and administered the Swanton Bomb. Hardys, one. Challengers, zero.
