Jeff Hardy and Andrade “Cien” Almas pushed each other to their limits in a highly memorable matchup on SmackDown LIVE, and Almas nearly scored an upset over the former WWE Champion, but The Charismatic Enigma finished Almas off with a ring-rattling Swanton Bomb.
The win proved to be extra beneficial for Hardy, as Paige ruled that Daniel Bryan could no longer be on the SmackDown Men’s Survivor Series Team since he would be challenging AJ Styles for the WWE Title tonight. The Miz, who was left as the blue brand’s sole captain, immediately selected The Charismatic Enigma as the newest member of Team Blue.

With the final spot on the SmackDown LIVE Men’s Survivor Series team on the line, Jeff Hardy (Daniel Bryan’s choice) took on Samoa Joe (The Miz’s choice).
The two engaged in a hard-hitting contest that saw each take ample chances while Bryan and Miz watched from the announce desk and talked up their selection. However, Hardy took one chance too many when he went for a Swanton Bomb, as The Samoan Submission Machine got his knees up before Hardy landed. Joe followed up by locking his foe in the Coquina Clutch, forcing The Charismatic Enigma to tap out and securing his place on the team.
After the match, Joe began to gloat right in front of Bryan, and The “Yes!” Man responded by clocking him in the face. The fight spilled into the ring, where Bryan applied the “Yes!” Lock before Miz broke it up. After being provoked by Miz, Bryan decked The A-Lister and unloaded on him until fellow SmackDown LIVE Men’s Survivor Series team member Shane McMahon arrived. However, the best in the world also felt Bryan’s wrath when Daniel dropped him with a judo throw before departing.
It’s possible that Bryan thought Shane was Samoa Joe, but regardless, one fact rang clear: The SmackDown LIVE Men’s Survivor Series team isn’t even close to being on the same page. At least not yet.

The Charismatic Enigma continued to show the ruthless side that has awakened inside him after his brutal Hell in a Cell Match against Randy Orton, ramming Miz’s face repeatedly into the turnbuckles. However, Hardy’s high-risk offense gave The Awesome One an opening to take control of the bout and ground the high-flyer.
Hardy once again took to the skies, however, as he stunned Miz with Whisper in the Wind, then used the ringside barricade to propel himself onto a dazed A-Lister at ringside. Back in the ring, The Miz showed just how low he would go to advance, rolling Hardy up and attempting to put his feet on the ropes for leverage during the pin, but the official caught Miz in the act and stopped the count.
Hardy attempted to take advantage of the situation and put The Awesome One away, but The Miz swiftly countered and planted The Charismatic Enigma into the mat with the Skull-Crushing Finale to secure his place in the WWE World Cup Semifinal. The A-Lister will meet Rey Mysterio, who will certainly still be reeling after a brutal post-match attack by Randy Orton following their opening-round battle. Did The Viper’s brutality open the door for The Miz to move one step closer to becoming the best in the world?
