Ladies and Gentlemen…E-C-3EC3 introduces calls out Jeff Hardy. Hardy walks to the ring in a suit appliqued cut-out faces of EC3. Carter says, “You know they say you can’t shine up a turd, but I’ll tell you what – you slap an EC3 face on it, it looks pretty good.”

Carter instructs Jeff to tell the crowd to stop chanting “Hardy” before billing himself as the greatest World Champion to have ever lived. Carter says no one can stop him; Rockstar Spud disagrees. Spud says Carter berating his assistant seems familiar.

Spud tells EC3 he’s garbage compared to Hardy; the crowd chants, “You are garbage.”

Carter asks Spud if garbage would be the only undefeated TNA World Heavyweight Champion in history; if garbage would defeat Sting, Kurt Angle and Bully Ray; if garbage would be who the company is built around. Carter lays out Spud and instructs Jeff to leave the Impact Zone.

Spud attacks Carter. Tyrus comes to his aid and before long, Jeff Hardy finds himself instructed to take out Spud. He does so, reluctantly.

A “Hardy” AssistantEthan Carter III enters the Impact Zone, claiming to be unaffected by the war raging between his aunt Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett. He’s more concerned with retaining his championship last week and gaining a new assistant in Jeff Hardy.

Carter demands Hardy’s presence. He instructs the production crew to shut off Hardy’s music – and for Hardy to bring him and Tyrus bottles of water. Then, Carter reveals a gift – a huge EC3 face cut-out. He says it’s for Hardy to hold while introducing him for the next match.

Tag Team Match | Ethan Carter III & Tyrus vs. Matt Hardy & Rockstar SpudEC3 and Matt Hardy square off; EC3 retreats to his corner, bringing in Tyrus. Tyrus and Hardy size up one another before Tyrus connects with a shot to the throat. EC3 tags in. Hardy gains control with a flurry of rights and a side Russian leg sweep.

Hardy backs Carter into his corner and Rockstar Spud enters. He and Hardy deliver a double suplex moments before EC3 sends Spud over the top rope. Tyrus drives Spud into the rings post before feeding him back to EC3 for a front-face suplex.

Tyrus becomes legal and begins choking Spud. He spreads Spud’s legs and splashes onto his groin! From then on, it’s total domination of the “Ultimate Underdog.”

EC3 reenters with a drop toe hold and choke on the bottom rope. EC3 and Tyrus call for Jeff Hardy to take a shot using EC3’s face sign. Hardy refuses and the distraction allows Spud to tag Matt Hardy.

Hardy storms the ring with a series of clotheslines and a Side Effect. He sets up a Twist of Fate, but Carter counters and Tyrus tags in. Hardy fends off Tyrus and Spud tags himself in. Spud finds himself in a precarious position as EC3 demands Jeff Hardy smack him with a chair. Hardy refuses; Tyrus delivers a spike to the throat for the win.

Result: EC3 & Tyrus (via pinfall)

TNA World Heavyweight Championship | Matt Hardy vs. EC3Carter and Hardy lock up in the center of the ring. EC3 pulls himself between the ropes to force the break. Hardy battles out of a headlock and begins to dominate the match, ultimately sending EC3 through the ropes to the floor.

Carter regains control and returns the action to the ring where he presses Hardy with a slam. Carter misses an elbow drop from the turnbuckle, but Hardy’s offense is countered with a sleeper hold.

Hardy breaks the hold with a jawbreaker before planting EC3 with a running bulldog. Hardy connects with an elbow from the turnbuckle and a Side Effect. He attempts a Twist of Fate, but EC3 counters by shoving him into the official. The official goes down and then Hardy delivers the Twist of Fate.

The crowd chants the count, but there’s no referee to make it official. Tyrus nails Hardy with a cheap shot before Carter delivers a title shot to the face! Carter makes the cover, but Hardy just kicks out before three!

Carter reaches for the title a second time; Jeff pries it from his grasp and takes a shot of his own. Matt catches Carter with a schoolboy and a two count. Carter’s out and sets up the One Percenter. Hardy counters and they butt heads; they’re both down.

Tyrus again attempts to involve himself, but Jeff takes him out with a chair shot! The distraction allows Carter to catch Hardy with a swinging neckbreaker; Hardy’s out at two! Matt Hardy delivers a tornado DDT; Carter’s out a two!

Carter counters another Twist of Fate, but then attempts a Twist of Fate of his own. Matt shoves Carter toward the official. EC3 catches himself and drills Hardy with a low blow before sealing his victory with a sunset flip.

Result: Ethan Carter III def. Matt Hardy (via pinfall)

Post-match: Carter demands that Jeff Hardy raise his hand in victory.

The Carter UltimatumJeff Hardy says Matt Hardy needs one more shot – one more chance to become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion. If granted another shot, Matt vows to become the champion that leads TNA into the future.

Ethan Carter III recalls watching the Hardys as a child. He says competing against two legends couldn’t be more…disappointing. EC3 says he went into God Mode and stood atop Matt Hardy like Zeus on Mount Olympus.

Carter and the Hardys trade barbs. EC3 says if the crowd chants “Matt for Champ,” Matt will have his title match, with one condition: If he defeats Matt, then Jeff becomes his personal assistant. The Hardys decide later.

The Hardys DecideJeff Hardy accepts Ethan Carter’s challenge. He says Matt Hardy can’t lose. The match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship takes place next week.
