After weeks of being the victim of physical and mental torment from Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy squared off against The Viper on SmackDown LIVE in a highly personal contest.
The two went at it with all the vigor and vitriol that one would expect after several weeks of wild brawls. The brutal battle saw Orton again viciously pull Hardy’s ear lobe, which led to an incensed Jeff stomping The Apex Predator below the belt. The Charismatic Enigma became absolutely unglued, continuing to assault Orton through the WWE Universe. Hardy beat Orton down with anything he could get his hands on, including a steel chair and a camera. Jeff then positioned Randy on a table in the tech area and made an incredible jump from the equipment crates, crushing Orton with a Swanton Bomb.
Advantage, finally, Hardy.

Jeff Hardy threw caution to the wind in his fight against United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura at SummerSlam, but that fearless mentality led to The Charismatic Enigma’s demise. The King of Strong Style capitalized on a failed high-risk maneuver from Hardy to retain the red, white and blue crown.
The two rivals wasted no time getting into it, exchanging strikes and taunts in equal measure. Hardy evaded one of Nakamura’s signature low blows and went on an offensive barrage that saw him connect with two Twist of Fates.
Ever the risktaker, Hardy attempted the Swanton Bomb on Nakamura, who was laying prone on the edge of the ring apron. Nakamura evaded the dive, causing Jeff to splat right onto the hardest part of the ring. From there, it was academic: Nakamura took advantage of Hardy’s mistake, finishing The Charismatic Enigma off with the Kinshasa for the win.
Moments after his victory, Randy Orton arrived, seemingly salivating at the prospect of getting to inflict more pain onto the defenseless Hardy. Then, in a perplexing move, The Viper opted to just turn around and walk away, leaving the WWE Universe to speculate on his intentions.

Jeff Hardy returned to action on SmackDown LIVE after weeks of being tormented by Randy Orton and his opponent at SummerSlam this Sunday, United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. However, Hardy had an equally difficult test on SmackDown LIVE, as he faced cagy veteran Shelton Benjamin.
Benjamin tried to prey on any ring rust and lingering injuries Hardy may’ve been harboring after his rough several months. However, The Charismatic Enigma battled through the pain and claimed the victory after drilling Shelton with the Twist of Fate.
Hardy’s celebration was cut short when Nakamura’s music began to blare. Nakamura attempted to put Hardy down with a Kinshasa, all while Orton watched behind the side of the stage. However, The Charismatic Enigma caught Nakamura with a Twist of Fate and then added extra emphasis with a Swanton Bomb, making it clear that he would not go quietly into the night this Sunday.

Facing long odds and a fearsome pair of challengers to their hard-won Raw Tag Team Titles, The B-Team seemed all but certain to go down in a blaze of glory at the end of Raw’s Triple Threat title match. But against all odds, Bo Dallas & Curtis Axel survived the storm of The Revival and The Deleters of Worlds, escaping the three-way dance with their championship reign intact.
They did all this despite a stupendous effort by The Revival, who had an answer for everything, and we do mean everything: They even recovered after a lengthy, wild brawl among all the teams to hit the Shatter Machine on Bray Wyatt. Little did they realize, Axel had tagged in on Scott Dawson without the latter realizing, and the champion hauled Dawson off The Reaper of Souls, threw him out of the ring onto Dash and claimed the pinfall for his (B) team. That said, their efforts weren’t exactly for naught: The “Top Guys” were granted a Raw Tag Team Title Match of their own at SummerSlam Kickoff.

The Revival’s recent victories would suggest they’re in line for a Raw Tag Team Title opportunity. Unfortunately for them, “Woken” Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt aren’t quite ready to cede their position just yet. In the midst of a match between The Revival and reigning champs The B-Team, Hardy & Wyatt appeared out of thin air on the apron in the thick of the action, pouncing with a Twist of Fate to Scott Dawson and Sister Abigail to Bo Dallas in an unmistakable message that they will not be deleted from contention quite so easily.
The message was well-received: It was announced later in the evening that The B-Team will defend their titles next week in a Triple Threat Match against both The Revival and The Deleters of Worlds.
